As we head towards the close of the Premier League season, there’s still plenty to fight for around the league table. The title is still up for grabs, the Champions League spots are still undecided, two other European spots are wide open and the relegation battle is still on. Arsenal moved back into top spot after Manchester City temporarily shuffled the deck, Manchester United still in 3rd. At the other end we have two confirmed relegations with Wolves and Burnley, next to them is Tottenham Hotspur.

GW34 spanned nearly a week, from Tuesday to the following Monday. GW35 is back to the normal schedule with games covering Friday to Monday. On Friday we have Leeds vs Burnley at 8pm (GMT). Moving into Saturday we have four fixtures, three will kick off at 3pm. Brentford will host West Ham, Brighton will travel to Newcastle and then Wolves will play Sunderland. Rounding off Saturday’s fixture list will be Arsenal up against Fulham at 5:30pm. Sunday will see three fixtures take place. Bournemouth will take on Crystal Palace at 2pm, Manchester United will battle Liverpool at 3:30pm and then Aston Villa will face Spurs at 7pm. Finally, we have two fixtures on Monday, the first of which will be at 3pm. Nottingham Forest will travel to Chelsea and then Everton will play Manchester City at 8pm.

Leeds vs Burnley

Leeds have been taking strides towards guaranteeing survival in recent weeks. They’re unbeaten in five league matches now, winning two of them. They’ve given themselves a healthy advantage over Spurs and West Ham who linger between four and six points behind. However, they’ll know the job isn’t done as there’s still four games to play, meaning 12 points are up for grabs for each team. Daniel Farke will be happy that this fixture is at home as they’ve only lost five all season at Elland Road. That record is better than eight other teams. Despite promising signs in the league, they were edged out of the FA Cup semi final against Chelsea on Sunday. A narrow 1-0 defeat ended their journey. They’re just going to have to pick themselves up and dust themselves off, as they’ve got bigger fish to fry now.

Burnley are the second team to achieve relegation this season. Scott Parker has also been fired from his role, which feels too late in the day for that kind of decision. Burnley have struggled immensely this season, especially in the second half of the campaign. They’ve only won a single game in their last 25 league outings. It’s an incredibly poor return and they deserve to face the drop. The only thing left for them to fight for now is to not finish bottom, they’re only three points adrift of that happening.

Burnley haven’t shown any fight this season and there’s no reason to think they will now, especially with Leeds fighting for survival still. I think this will comfortably be a Leeds win.

Predicted Result: Leeds 3-0 Burnley

Brentford vs West Ham

Brentford have dwindled in form recently as the bright lights of European football seem dazzling to them. After an excellent period between mid-December and the end of February, they’ve struggled to even find a win since. They haven’t won a game since February 28th. While they haven’t necessarily been losing, it’s still frustrating knowing that if any of those draws converted to a win then they’d easily claim a European spot. Having said that, they did lose their most recent game, against Manchester United. That also happens to be their first defeat since February 21st. That means it’s just two defeats in the league since January 26th. A stretch of 11 games. They’ve also still only lost three times on home soil, only Arsenal and City have a better record.

West Ham are doing a good job of keeping themselves out of the clutches of the relegation zone, but they know that it won’t last long if they don’t keep winning. They needed a 90th minute goal to beat Everton last weekend, ensuring that Spurs’ win didn’t change anything. But, that’s what the Hammers need. The grit and determination to ensure they’ve done everything they can to get three points. That win makes it three games without defeat now, winning two of them. They hold a two point lead over Spurs, which does provide a cushion of some sorts. But, Nuno Espírito Santo knows that you’re not safe until you’re mathematically safe. West Ham do have decent away form as well, picking up points in nine of the 17 away fixtures.

While both teams need the win, the momentum is with West Ham. However, all I can see is a draw here.

Predicted Result: Brentford 1-1 West Ham

Newcastle vs Brighton

Newcastle are edging towards having nothing left to play for this season. They sit 14th and seven points off 7th, which would result in European football next season. It’s an unlikely target they’ll hit, but only winning their next four games will give them any hope. However, they’re going to have to shake off the bad form as it’s now four defeats in a row. They were unlucky to come away with a loss against Arsenal, but that’s the hand that was dealt. Eddie Howe needs to take the positives and turn it into a win here. They have lost their last two home games as well, meaning it’s now seven losses at St James Park this campaign. Despite such disappointment at home, only four teams in the league have scored more on home turf. The problems start at the other end as only three teams have conceded more.

Brighton have surged towards Europe in the last couple of months and are taking no prisoners along the way. Fabian Hurzeler’s men have lost just once in their last seven league matches. They’ve shifted ahead of Brentford, Chelsea and Bournemouth who all seem reluctant to really make the top 6. Of course there’s still 7th up for grabs. Despite the excellent form, there’s still four teams that could leapfrog them this weekend. It just proves how volatile the league really is. The Seagulls are decent away from home, picking up points in 10 of the 17 fixtures. They’ve only conceded 22 times, which is the fifth lowest in the table.

This is a difficult game to predict as both have immense quality in their ranks, but form suggests that Brighton could steal three points here. However, I’m going for Newcastle to end their four game losing streak with a win.

Predicted Result: Newcastle 2-1 Brighton

Wolves vs Sunderland

Wolves have been relegated for a few weeks now and are playing like a team that’s relegated. There’s very little fight left in them, which is why they’ve shipped 13 goals in their last five games, adding just three in return. They showed some courage a couple of months back, but that’s certainly dissipated. At the very least they ensured they didn’t end the season with the lowest points tally in Premier League history. They can even finish 19th instead of rock bottom, which is something to play for.

Sunderland have conceded 11 in their last five matches, but have scored six in the process. It’s not a million miles apart, but Sunderland ensured they won two games in that schedule. That’s the difference. But, it is two defeats in a row for Regis Le Bris’ side now, which is where nine of their goals conceded have come from. After narrowly losing to Villa, they were then thumped 5-0 by Nottingham Forest. Sunderland still have a good chance of making Europe, but they need to ensure they win from here on out. They trail Brighton by four points and Bournemouth by three, both achievable targets. If Le Bris was to attain European football for next season, that would be one of the more incredible achievements the Premier League has seen for a while.

Wolves won’t admit they’ve given up, but the mentality will have shifted. Sunderland actually have something to play for and I can see them winning here.

Predicted Result: Wolves 0-1 Sunderland

Arsenal vs Fulham

Arsenal’s schedule has been packed ever since the season started. It’s been relentless for the Gunners and fatigue has set in. Mikel Arteta’s men have won just two games since they beat Bayer Leverkusen on March 17th. That’s eight games and just two wins, both a 1-0 score line. In fact, the last time Arsenal scored more than one goal in a match was in that win over Leverkusen. They’re still not conceding many, but they’re just not scoring enough. However, they’re back to winning ways in the Premier League and they will need the Emirates form to get them through this one. They’ve still only lost twice at home, but both have come in 2026.

Fulham are hoping to deliver European football to the club and have set themselves up to do just that. Form is choppy, but enough to keep them within touching distance of those ahead of them. They’re just two points behind Brighton who sit in 6th, so the desire for a win will be strong as they know what it could mean. However, they have the fourth worst away form in the division. It’s seen them lose nine times, with only Burnley and Wolves losing more. They’ve also only scored 16 goals, which is the joint-third lowest in the table. Marco Silva knows his team are capable of an upset.

Arsenal are going to struggle here. The weight of two massive trophies is weighing heavier than ever. However, I do think they’ll find a way through, like they did against Newcastle. It won’t be pretty, but it should be enough.

Predicted Result: Arsenal 1-0 Fulham

Bournemouth vs Crystal Palace

Another game, another week without defeat. That’s 13 games without loss, which is an incredible record. What makes it even better is how they were doing in 2025, as they struggled a lot. They couldn’t find a win for a couple of months which sent them right down the lower end of the table, flirting with the relegation zone. Now, they’re 7th and just a point behind Brighton in 6th. Despite the success in 2026, they’re still perhaps drawing too many games. They have 16 this season, which is the most. Despite all the draws, they’re one of the most exciting teams in the division. They’ve notched 52 goals, which is the 6th highest in the table. In terms of goals conceded, it’s 52 also which is the 5th highest.

Palace had an excellent midweek as they beat Shakhtar Donetsk in the Conference League semi final. This has added to a rather good month for Palace. Form in the league has steadily improved and they now have one foot in a European Final. They were unbeaten in four, but lost to Liverpool at the weekend. They sit 13th in the league, with six points separating them and Bournemouth in 7th. Needless to say a win here will be very important in closing that gap. Oliver Glasner’s men are also best when away from home, winning three more points on the road than at Selhurst Park.

I do think the midweek venture will prove costly for Palace in this one. Bournemouth are excellent at home and won’t be suffering as much from fatigue, therefore likely to win.

Predicted Result: Bournemouth 2-0 Palace

Manchester United vs Liverpool

United have positioned themselves perfectly for Champions League football, but will want to make sure they don’t have to go through any qualifying rounds. They currently hold a three point advantage over Villa and Liverpool. This makes this fixture a bit of a six-pointer, as a win will open up a six point gap with just three games to go. It’s still just the two defeats for Michael Carrick since his appointment. It’s been an excellent 2026 for United and they’ll be looking to finish strong, what they feel their season deserves.

Liverpool have had a long season and it’s ended poorly. They won’t be able to win a trophy now after getting knocked out by PSG in the Champions League, but they’ve seemed to confirm Champions League football for next season. It’s a small win, but it’s still a win. They sit within touching distance of United and a victory here will help them move above their old rivals. Arne Slot would see top three as some sort of success, given the season they’ve had. Liverpool have also lost seven away from home, which is the 9th most in the division. For a team that could secure top three, that’s a bad record.

It’s not often this tie means little more than bragging rights, but that’s the result of both their seasons. On form, I think United will win.

Predicted Result: United 3-2 Liverpool

Aston Villa vs Spurs

Villa had a wobble as we came into 2026, which could’ve seen them drop much further down that 5th. However, Unai Emery was able to halt the spiral. Villa sit pretty comfortable in 5th, but they know that they need a couple more wins to see them over the line. Brighton are eight points behind, but two results in Brighton’s favour will see that gap close to just two points. That doesn’t feel impossible. Villa also lost to Nottingham Forest in the Europa League, which will be hugely disappointing. Emery is an expert in the Europa League, so that tie is certainly not over.

Spurs won their first game of 2026 at the weekend, beating Wolves 1-0. It could signal a change in form, but they only beat an already relegated side. They need something big, an actual momentum shift. Beating Villa could do that. They can’t just draw the game either, as it won’t see them leave the relegation zone. They need to take all three points to leapfrog West Ham. Despite such a poor 2026, Spurs still have the 7th best away record in the league. They’ve picked up points in 11 of the 17 fixtures. Roberto De Zerbi is running out of games to save Spurs’ season, so things need to change immediately.

Despite Villa’s troubles in 2026, they’ve only lost four times at Villa Park. Spurs still have an insane amount of injuries and that will play a part more than fatigue, so I think Villa will win here.

Predicted Result: Villa 1-0 Spurs

Chelsea vs Forest

The worst team in the league over the last five fixtures. That about sums up Chelsea’s end to the Premier League season. However, they find themselves with a chance to win a trophy as they reached the FA Cup final on Sunday. Back to the Premier League and it’s five defeats in a row. 11 goals conceded and a grand total of zero goals scored. For a team that have generated the most xG this season, going five games in a row without a goal is incredibly poor. Chelsea have also sacked Liam Rosenior due to the poor form, so it’s back to the drawing board for the hierarchy.

Forest have come alive in recent weeks. They’ve given themselves an advantage in the Europa League semi final, beating Villa 1-0 in the first leg. In terms of domestic form, they’re churning out the results that will ensure survival. Two massive wins in the Premier League, sandwiched between their European success. They beat Burnley 4-1 and Sunderland 5-0, which are two brilliant results. That now means Forest are unbeaten in six league games. However, they still are only five points clear of Spurs in 18th. They’ll need to just keep going.

Chelsea are in awful form, but I can see this poor spell lifting here. Once again, fatigue will be an issue for Forest and Chelsea can benefit from it.

Predicted Result: Chelsea 2-1 Forest

Everton vs Manchester City

Everton have had a good season, but they can make it great. They sit 11th, but just three points behind 6th. If they want European football at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, then they need to lock in and pick up as many wins as they can. David Moyes knows his side are capable of beating anyone on their day, but it’s just one win in their last five games. However, that was a 3-0 win over Chelsea. Everton have the fourth best defensive record in the league and will need to use it in this one. On the flip side, they have the fifth lowest number of goals scored.

City confirmed a chance at a domestic treble after they beat Southampton in the FA Cup semi final. Despite the disappointment in Europe, Pep Guardiola could win a treble still and it would be an incredible achievement. They’re three points behind Arsenal right now, but will have two games in hand before this fixture is played. They’ll be hoping that Arsenal drop points against Fulham, but they need to get their own job done. Away from home, that’s been City’s kryptonite this season. They’ve dropped points in eight of the 17 fixtures outside of the Etihad. But, Pep’s side are unbeaten in the league since January 24th.

While Everton are good at home, I can’t see anyone halting this City behemoth.

Predicted Result: Everton 1-3 City
