The drama continues to unfold in the Premier League with many teams battling hard. There’s a league title to be won, top five to be confirmed, the remaining European spots dished out and a relegation battle to decide. It’s getting extremely close to last chance saloon for a few clubs as certain ambitions begin to fade. GW33 will provide another dose of adrenaline, something the fans of every club will be happy to have.

This round of fixtures will take place from Saturday to Monday. On Saturday we have five fixtures spread throughout the day. First up is Brentford vs Fulham. Kick off will be 12:30pm. Moving on from that will be two fixtures at 3pm. Leeds will welcome Wolves and Newcastle will host Bournemouth. After that will be a 5:30pm kick off between Tottenham and Brighton. Rounding off the day will be Chelsea up against Manchester United at 8pm. Sunday will see four fixtures, three of them kicking off at 2pm. Sunderland will travel to Aston Villa, Everton will battle Liverpool and Nottingham Forest will play Burnley. At 4:30pm will be the big one. Manchester City against Arsenal. To conclude GW33 will be Crystal Palace welcoming West Ham on Monday, kick off will be 8pm.

Brentford vs Fulham

Brentford’s form has just started to dwindle in the last few weeks. Previously they were excellent at picking up wins on a regular basis. However, it’s now been four games without one. On the flip side, they haven’t lost any of those four games, but have instead drawn them all. The draw against Everton last weekend will feel very frustrating given the time at which the Toffee’s equalised. If that 91st minute goal didn’t go in, Brentford would be sitting above Chelsea. They’re still leading the pack for top seven, but a loss this weekend could see up to four teams leapfrog them. Keith Andrews will be confident that his sides excellent home form will continue here, losing just three all season.

Fulham have been through a range of emotions in the last few weeks. A couple of solid wins, two disappointing defeats and one draw to even it out. The trouble for them is that the up and down form has them sitting 12th. They’re only three points behind Brentford and Everton, but have an inferior goal difference. Marco Silva will want to grab one of those last couple of European spots, but he’ll desperately need to improve the form away from home. They have the fourth worst in the entire division, winning just four times on the road. Only Leeds, Wolves and Burnley have won less.

I think Fulham have a very good side, but clearly they struggle outside of Craven Cottage. Brentford need to convert some of their draws into wins and I feel like that will happen here.

Predicted Result: Brentford 2-0 Fulham

Leeds vs Wolves

Leeds picked up a massive win against Manchester United in the last game week. That 2-1 victory has given them a cushion in the relegation battle, but they also beat their county rivals. Despite seemingly being the side that has led the relegation battle for so long, they were only a few points ahead of West Ham. That win should also give the players the encouragement needed to finish the campaign strong. They had been struggling to pick up wins with the last one coming on February 6th, that’s over two months without a win in the league. Despite having respectable home form, the last win at Elland Road came on February 6th as well.

Wolves now only have 18 points to play for, which could see them end up with 35. Right now that would ensure survival, but the reality is that the mini revival they’ve experienced is just too little too late. They’ve had fun throwing a cat amongst the pigeons against certain teams, but getting hammered 4-0 by West Ham is a ‘final nail in the coffin’ kind of result. It seems like they could limp to the finish line, but they still have Burnley in their sights. Three points still separates the two.

For Leeds they could effectively confirm survival this weekend. If they could push themselves nine points clear with just five games to go, that’s almost job done. They’ll use the momentum from the Manchester United win.

Predicted Result: Leeds 3-1 Wolves

Newcastle vs Bournemouth

Newcastle almost feel like the forgotten team in the league. They were thumped by Barcelona a few weeks ago and that ended any hope of silverware. They then had to turn their attention back to the Premier League, which has been just as disappointing. They’re not as feared as they once were. Yes, they can still pick up solid wins, but they’re struggling to put together a respectable run of form. They’re 14th in the league and have lost two games in a row now. Eddie Howe knows his side are capable of grabbing important wins as they have triumphed over Chelsea and Manchester United recently. However, that defeat to Sunderland will have cut deep and it’s hard to see the Magpie’s recovering. But, five points separate them and 7th, so all is not lost.

Bournemouth have been excellent for 99% of 2026. The small 1% was the defeat to Arsenal at the start of the year, but revenge had to wait. But, when it came it was served ice cold. The win over Arsenal last weekend has allowed Manchester City to close the gap to a mere six points. Andoni Iraola won’t care about that as he just wants the best for his side and they have Europe within their grasp. They sit 11th and just two points behind Brentford, needless to say that a win here will see them climb into 7th. They’re unbeaten away from home since December 30th, an incredible record.

Bournemouth were excellent against Arsenal and deserved their win, but Newcastle will be an entirely different prospect. Both will be desperate to get wins on the board and I feel like that will lead to cancelling each other out.

Predicted Result: Newcastle 1-1 Bournemouth

Tottenham vs Brighton

Spurs, once again, couldn’t benefit from the new manager bounce. Roberto De Zerbi watched his new team buckle under pressure from Sunderland. However, the North London side have directed some of the blame towards the officials. Nevertheless, the 1-0 loss has seen drop into the relegation zone. West Ham winning 4-0 has put the Hammers two points ahead. De Zerbi needs to find a win and fast, a draw isn’t even good enough here. It’s not even just to put three points on the board, it’s to also not be the only club not to win a game in 2026. The new manager will also face the club he left a couple of seasons ago, Brighton.

The Seagulls, under De Zerbi, were very good. They played expansive football and became one of the most exciting teams in the League. Fabian Hurzeler will like to get one over on his predecessor to show that Brighton are better off with him at the helm. They’re 9th in the table right now, but are in the best form of their season. Four wins in their last five fixtures is very impressive, they’ve actually won five of their last six. It’s shows what a turnaround in form the East Sussex side have gone through. Prior to this, between December 3rd and February 11th, they won just a single Premier League game.

Brighton will be fired up for this one, but so will De Zerbi. It’ll be an intense battle that I think Spurs will do well in, but I don’t think they’ll quite grab three points.

Predicted Result: Spurs 2-2 Brighton

Chelsea vs Manchester United

The Blues have been struggling of late. Liam Rosenior’s early promise has sort of snowballed into a mockery of the institution. His slightly absurd ideas were seen as quirky when he first arrived. They were winning and it’s always easy to overlook certain things when you’re winning. Since they’ve started to lose, those ideas have turned slightly strange. Outside of the 7-0 thrashing of Port Vale, they’ve lost their last five games in all competitions. It seems like PSG toying with them has sliced this team to bits. They look the weakest out of all of the outfits chasing top five and they also sit in the worst position. They’re four points behind Liverpool now and that’s partly down to their shocking form at Stamford Bridge. Just six wins at home, compared to a team like Arsenal who have 12.

Manchester United had that swagger about them again. Michael Carrick has them playing an exciting brand of football and that’s helped them pick up wins. It’s seen them claim 3rd for the time being. Aston Villa are level on points, but have an inferior goal difference. Liverpool are just three points behind as well. The defeat to Leeds, last time out, has punished them for the arrogance they’ve adopted since Carrick arrived. Don’t get me wrong, United have been impressive, but they were acting like they were back. It’s easy to feel that way when you have a week off at a time to prepare for every fixture, something Arsenal and Manchester City would love to have. But, against Leeds they had nearly a month off and still couldn’t turn in a win.

I think the defeat to Leeds will have rocked United. Chelsea know that anything other than a win will make claiming Champions League football, for next season, feel impossible. The home side have too much on the line and I can see them getting the job done here.

Predicted Result: Chelsea 1-0 United

Aston Villa vs Sunderland

Unai Emery had been struggling recently. The mid-season form had well worn off and they were in danger of free falling. Villa sat comfortable in 3rd, but have dropped into 4th after United’s resurgence. Now it seems like the Villans are about have a resurgence of their own. They’re unbeaten in their last five games, in all competitions. That will have given some huge relief considering they had lost three league games in a row. The draw against Nottingham Forest will have felt disappointing, but picking up points against teams battling relegation is always worth more. They have a big opportunity to slide themselves into 3rd once again.

Sunderland are also improving form, winning their last two games. Actually, they’ve only lost once in their last five league games. Picking up wins over Newcastle and Spurs will have felt very nice and the club will be confident they can continue their form. But, it’s been a struggle away from home this season. Regis Le Bris has only engineered four wins on the road, only three clubs have less. They’ve also only scored 10 goals, which is the second lowest in the entire division. The next lowest is 16, so it shows the difference.

As much as Sunderland have looked better of late, I think Villa will have just too much. That’s even with a game midweek, which saw Villa win 4-0.

Predicted Result: Villa 2-0 Sunderland

Everton vs Liverpool

The Merseyside derby. Perhaps one of the closest battles in recent history. David Moyes’ side are 8th in the league, but only five points behind their bitter rivals. The Toffee’s will be hoping to throw more misery onto Liverpool after an extremely disappointing season. They have the expertise and tools to do that this season. Everton have won just three times against Liverpool since 2010, but they have been able to prevent Liverpool winning at Goodison Park for 10 games. The Hill Dickinson stadium is the new home for Everton, so they’ll be hoping to open the new era of Merseyside derbies with a win. Everton have only lost once in their last five league games.

Just a few miles down the road we have Liverpool. After losing to PSG in the week, that has ended any hope of silverware. 4-0 across two legs was rather conclusive of the gap in skill between the French and English sides. Despite all this, Arne Slot has plenty to play for still as he’ll want to make sure that the Reds are in the Champions League next season. They’re on the edge at the moment, but have a four point buffer over Chelsea. They’re also just three points shy of Villa and United. But, if they’re to trouble either of them sides they’ll need improve their overall form. They’ve won just two of their last five league games and have lost seven games outside of Anfield.

Everton have proven to be a difficult team to beat this season and Liverpool have come unstuck against disciplined teams. I don’t think Everton will win, but they’ll take points away from their rival.

Predicted Result: Everton 1-1 Liverpool

Nottingham Forest vs Burnley

Despite battling relegation, Forest are now into the semi finals of the Europa League. Forest have the chance to do something incredible and something I’m not sure has happened before. If they get relegated, but win the Europa League, they’ll be one of the only teams in history playing European football in the second tier of English football. It’s bittersweet and I’m not sure what Forest fans would prefer, but they’ll think they can do both. They’re currently three points from safety, but are unbeaten in their last four league games. It’s actually one defeat in eight games, in all competitions. Survival is looking more likely and they’ll face Aston Villa for a place in the Europa League final.

Burnley have only won a single league game in 2026, that’s a big stretch of games as it is, but it goes further. To find a second victory you’d have to go all the way back to October 26th. Even Wolves are in better form than Scott Parker’s men. Because of this, Wolves are just three behind points now and have every chance of throwing Burnley to the bottom of the table. That would be criminal for Parker. They still have 18 points to play with, which is likely enough for survival. But, of course they’d actually have to win a game, let alone the remaining six.

Forest will be tired from the midweek exploits, but I think that buzz of reaching a European semi final will boil over into the league. I don’t think Burnley will get anything here.

Predicted Result: Forest 3-0 Burnley

Manchester City vs Arsenal

The big fixture of the weekend. It’s been billed as a title deciding fixture and I think, from a mental perspective, it is. There are still points to play for after this fixture, but that psychological edge will be crucial. City enter this fixture in devastating form. They’ve even beaten Arsenal within their last three matches. The EFL Cup final included, Pep Guardiola’s men have scored nine goals and conceded zero. Pep is working his late season magic once again. However, league form has dipped in recent weeks. Two draws against West Ham and Forest have been a gut punch, but City will never give up. The 3-0 win over Chelsea will have gone some way to restoring faith in the team.

The loss to Bournemouth was profound and it’s shifted the power back into City’s hands once again. Mikel Arteta’s side have been underwhelming for a while now, but have just kept their necks in front. After the Gunners beat Everton it seemed like they could go on to win the league at a canter, but a series of defeats to Manchester City, Southampton and Bournemouth have brought them crashing back down to earth. They received momentary respite against Sporting Lisbon, which has seen the North London side book a place in the semi finals of the Champions League. However, focus must return to league action and they cannot afford another defeat. In fact, avoiding defeat will be enough to keep City at arms length, a win will likely put one hand on their first title for 22 years.

As much as the fairytale is Arsenal’s to finish, City have extraordinary experience at getting a title over the line. The Citizens have also had a week to prepare for this fixture, while Arsenal had an exhausting midweek battle against Sporting. From that aspect alone, City will likely overpower Arsenal.

Predicted Result: City 2-0 Arsenal

Crystal Palace vs West Ham

A London derby, but not one that particularly sparks a rivalry. Oliver Glasner’s perseverance with Palace has resulted in an uptick in form for his side. They’ve booked their place in the Conference League semi final, despite losing to Fiorentina in the week. If the South London side win the Conference League then they’ll have European football regardless, but they have an outside chance of making top seven. They sit 13th right now and just five points behind Brentford and Everton. It’s an amazing turnaround, considering they were flirting with a relegation battle. Three wins, in the league, since February 22nd has seen them shoot up the table. But, they’ll need some improvements to their home form if they want to finish top seven.

West Ham have finally lifted themselves out of the relegation zone. The Hammers have been lingering in the bottom three for a majority of the season, but have finally breathed the air outside that zone. Whether it lasts is up to them as they have the opportunity to really create some distance between them and Spurs. They’re safe from being overtaken if they lose and Spurs draw. But, Nuno Espírito Santo will not see it that way. He’ll see what three points can do and will have a one track mind to achieve it. They were able to smash Wolves 4-0 last Friday which will help the confidence.

I think Palace will have 75% of their focus on the Conference League which will affect their Premier League form. They’re safe from relegation and would rather guarantee European football next season via winning the competition they’re in. This would lead me to think that West Ham will pick up something here.

Predicted Result: Palace 1-1 West Ham
